Catalan painter Arranz-Bravo’s new studio in Vallvidrera by Garcés De Seta Bonet Arquitectes

The work on the studio of Spanish painter Arranz-Bravo has recently been completed by Garcés De Seta Bonet Arquitectes. The new building is dedicated to a single activity: creative and solitary, in the artist’s words. This need has prompted designers “to solve the volume in a compact manner, with a uniform external appearance - insulating layers and clear stuccowork in expressive continuity between walls and roof - to establish family relationships, without disturbing the natural surroundings.”

Filip Dujardin (b.1971, Belgium) - Fictions

Working with a set of photos of real buildings in and around Ghent, Belgium, and using digital collaging techniques, the photographer Filip Dujardin created a mind-dazzling collection of structurally impossible architecture photographs entitled “Fictions”. Filip Dujardin studied history of art at the University of Ghent, specializing in architecture and now works as an independent photographer. His work on this project expresses the intricacy of architecture while pushing the limits of reality well beyond the immediate visual effect. Transforming existing buildings into fictional structures, Filip took out details and added some unusual ones instead. (source: Freshome)

Contemporary Art by Stephane Vigny

‘Why add another object to this world when it is overflowing with objects already?’, is a question Stéphane Vigny was asked and that took him into various considerations on his activities as an artist. The works of Vigny almost exclusively consist of converted or twisted objects. His pieces are often outright humoristic, at the same time they are thought-provoking for the viewer. ‘What inspired him to his work and what does he want to tell us?’, are questions we ask ourselves when looking at his transformed objects.
